Uphold Login — Helpful sign-in instructions
Clear, step-by-step guidance for signing in and protecting your Uphold™ account. Perfect for new and returning users.
Step 1 — Use the registered email
Always enter the email you used to create the account. If you maintain several addresses, check your password manager or account records to find the correct one. Typo-prone addresses are the most common cause of failed sign-in attempts.
Step 2 — Enter password securely
Type your password carefully or paste from a password manager. If the password fails repeatedly, use the “Forgot password” flow to reset. Avoid using easily guessable passwords; the stronger the password the slower the brute-force route becomes for attackers.
Step 3 — Use 2FA
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a time-based code step after your password. Use an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy) or hardware security key for higher assurance. Keep backup codes in a secure, offline place.
- Have access to the linked email address.
- Have alternate contact numbers ready for SMS recovery (if enabled).
- Follow official Uphold support channels for account recovery.
Phishing and safety
Phishers mimic login pages. Always check the browser’s address bar — official pages use uphold.com domains and valid TLS certificates. Do not share passwords, 2FA codes, or verification images with anyone claiming to be support unless you've verified their identity through official channels.
Security checklist
- Enable 2FA via an authenticator app.
- Use a unique password, managed by a password manager.
- Keep your devices and browser updated.
- Do not use public or untrusted Wi-Fi when transacting.
Following these basics dramatically reduces the risk of account compromise. For advanced protections, consider hardware keys and whitelisting IPs where possible.
